If the power button LED is a solid amber, and not flashing, that means there's a POST error, and you should look at the diagnostic lights to pin down exactly what the problem is. My guess is that the CPU you installed is not supported by that motherboard. I bet that if you look, you'll see that LED 3 is lit when you press the power button, which means CPU failure. So either the CPU you bought is bad, or it's not supported by your motherboard. My bet would be on the latter. You should also see about getting a keyboard that doesn't have a stuck caps lock key. It gets really annoying to read things in all caps. Secondly the caps thing is really annoying and at least an explanation would help rather than no explanation on that part. Also do the diagnostic thing where you load up the computer with the more basic of all components to see which piece of hardware is actually wrong here. Can't remember how that works but it's written in the forum on more than one thread so you'll have to search for that hun. No I refuse to find it for you so don't bother to ask. I've done more than what I normally would do because I'm in a nice mood. The problem with people is that they post for help in here before looking first and it's annoying typing the same stuff over and over. I don't know how members like Grif Thomas and Bob can do it along with others. Their angels in my eyes but they wouldn't have to do it in the first place if people opened there eyes and got their brains in check. Please remember to be considerate of other members.
