To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness. See All Buying Options Add to Wish List Disabling it will result in some disabled or missing features. You can still see all customer reviews for the product. Definitely a quality control error. Please inspect blade as this can cause you to loose an eye if not caught prior to use. I guess that's the quality of goods made in China. I will update this once I talk to Hitachi about this and actually get to use the saw. A 32 tooth blade is pretty much useless and I can't believe Hitachi doesn't package the 60 tooth to begin with on this saw. I have used the saw minimally so far but seems like a nice saw. I like the turn on by switch laser that the Hitachi has but coming from the back by the arm, it gets obstructed sometimes. Ridgid is cast down from the blade arbor but only when the blade is spinning. Do not get the Hitachi table as it is rather simple for the price. Don't have too much negative to say. I must have swept it up with sawdust and threw it away because I never found it. I e-mailed Hitachi, told them what happened, and asked them for a replacement. This was over a year ago. No reply. It's really unbelievable that this little scale is simply glued onto the saw and not scribed onto the frame. I purchased the 90 tooth blade and I don't know if it's the saw or the blade but there is quite a bit of wobble in the blade. No matter how securely you hold the stock down, every now and this due to blade wobble it will jam. I know how to use a miter saw so it's not user error. Finally I found it impossible to get this thing calibrated properly. The set up mechanism is badly designed and the fences are not straight. That's right. https://www.cocreationsmanager.com/blog/elmo-walker-manual-0

I don't know if it's the constant jamming or the manufacturing but the fences are both curved a bit. I've never been able to get this thing calibrated from day one. Just so you know I own the jobsite Hitachi table saw and love it. No problems. I also own a Makita orbital sander and belt sander. Love them as well. I also own the Makita LXT cordless kit. Love it. This is the ONLY tool I've ever had major problems. Please try again later. M. Koverdan 4.0 out of 5 stars No signs of damage to box or saw though, just the blade. Definitely a quality control error. B Happy,Fish 5.0 out of 5 stars One day before starting a full house trim out including full wood floors and ceilings I decided to get a new chop box. I looked at all of them and settled on this one. I am now almost finished with this big job and I couldn't be happier with this saw. I have probably made a 1000 cuts. It came perfect right out of the box. I bought a 90 tooth blade thinking I would need it to make clean cuts but havn't taken it out of it's package yet. One thing I love about this 12 inch saw is being able to stand a 6 inch board against the fence to cut a notch out. I use to have to use the table saw and that took alot of extra time. http://dumaxsrl.com/images/cantera-matlab-manual.pdf

Only drawback is having single bevel but I am use to it. I wish it was made is the USA too. Please try again later. Please try again later. pgk 5.0 out of 5 stars It really shines when beveling. The most cool feature of all is the laser. No more pencil lines. The laser works very well in sunlight too. Dust collection is also very well taken care of with the dust collection bag provided. However if you're allergic to wood dust then use a mask. The standard saw blade that comes with the saw is more than adequate. I've built a 24x24 deck using this saw and buying this tool was money well spent. Also look into getting other Hitachi tools. I did get the drill set combo with a flash light. The impact drill saved a whole bunch of time drilling through 2x4's.Please try again later. Please try again later. Stephen D. Michael Case 5.0 out of 5 stars This Hitachi was competitively priced with similar saws from Craftsman, Ryobi but seemed a little better built and had a 5 year warranty. Unlike the previous reviewer, mine came aligned perfectly right out of the box. The fences and blade were square, and the laser was even accurate (it's also quite easy to align should it ever need it later). Wary of the previous review, I specifically looked into how the bevel guage was attached before purchase, and can't for the life of me see how it would ever fall off. So far it's cut through plenty 2x4 and 4x4 lumber with ease, producing nice clean cuts. The included blade (44 tooth IIRC) seems perfectly adequate for framing. I'll be getting a second higher tooth-count blade when I get around to doing floors and molding. Please try again later. Please try again later. M. Dileo 3.

First off the manual is terrible. It is flimsy and made of thin paper (even covers) so don't expect it to last long. The set-up information does not cover everything. The unit is louder than I remember from my Delta. The blade guard works, but is very flimsy and wobbly. I know I was spoiled on my twin laser; but that being said.this unit's laser disappears when the blade is half-way lowered. So when doing a miter the laser will not show on the front edge. Only on the top. Yes I miss my Delta, but since this unit cost about the same I expected it to be close. Getting it set up for accurate cuts (I use it for woodworking) is hard.

I don't think the fences are completely flat and paralleled. Please try again later. Please try again later. Mike 1.0 out of 5 stars Must have used an air gun to tighten screws on piece covering arbor nut. I couldn't get 5mm screw off with using vise grips. After put new blade on checked bevel setting. Tried to loosen bevel lever. Wouldn't budge. Lever handle actually ended up moving but no loosening of bevel setting (meaning something was stripping). Packaging is a cardboard box with cardboard inserts. No styrofoam. Most likely the side of the cardboard box (which the bevel lever rests against)got hit at bevel lever location overtightening the lever. Took it back to Lowe's for a refund. Compound Feature for Precise Miters and Bevels Hitachi designed the C12FDH for versatile, easy use. The thumb-actuated positive miter stops for simple miter adjustments at the most common angles between zero and 52 degrees to the left and right. {-Variable.fc_1_url-

This design allows you to easily change the angle of the cutting blade for creating miters in crown molding and other trim pieces. The bevel scale ranges from zero to 48 degrees to the left and right, allowing your material to stay in place while you flip the saw head to make opposing cuts, and the saw head bevels to the right or left, also allowing the material to stay securely in place for cutting efficiency. After your major bevel angle is secured, a micro-bevel adjustment knob can be used to dial in a precise angle without the weight of the saw head compromising accuracy. Laser Marker Technology for Perfect Cuts Everytime Hitachi equipped the C12FDH with its exclusive Laser Marker System, which can be activated before the blade is in motion for exact alignment and predictable blade placement. The laser marker is easily adjustable to suit your preferences, simply line up the laser with your mark on the workpiece, and the saw blade will make an exact cut along the laser guide. As long as your measurements are right, your cuts will be, too. Chock-Full of User-Friendly Features The C12FDH has plenty of features to help you make the perfect cut the first time. To start, it has a powerful 15-amp motor that generates a no-load speed of up to 4,000 RPM to smoothly and easily cut through even the toughest hardwoods. For precise, safe cutting, a splinter guard behind the fence increases safety and reduces tear-out for clean, finished cuts, and a comfortable horizontal handle with a vibration-reducing elastomer grip prevents slippage and keeps you in control at all times. Additionally, a large base provides support and balance to prevent material from warping, and a built-in clamping system holds your workpiece in place. An added bonus, easily accessible carbon brushes will help your saw perform for the long term. About Hitachi: A Tradition of Innovation Hitachi Power Tools (Hitachi Koki USA, Ltd.

I understand there are some nice sliding miter saws, but most people don't need that added expense and thinking about the work I've done in thirty years I can do without that option. This Hitachi is a great saw at a t a good price. I noticed that someone rated it one star, because the packaging was torn and the saw arrived broken. One aspect has nothing to do with the other.I believe this saw was not really tested. The build quality is as good as it gets. But. The Miter adjustment is loose. There is almost one full degree of play. I thought I cold just get over it by right hand justifing before all lock downs but it is not the way my other Hitachi saw works. It snaps to the degree as shown and no more thinking. Really? no one tested this? Next, You can adjust the bevel indicator, but not full scale. If I set it for 0 degrees, at 35 degrees it is almost one degree off. If I st it for 35 degrees the 0 is almost one degree off. Really? No one tested this. I have been zeroing tools and machines for decades and this is plain wrong. Minor issues, but what a lump of disapointment. When you unlock (unscrew) the miter lock down, it releases. But, as you go from far left to far right, it catches in the middle. So you have to further unscrew it. Kind of a two step process. Really? no one checks for binding. One final thing, in the instruction manual, on page 21, figure 39 is reversed. A is really B. Good luck figuring that out. Also the diagram in figure 39 and 40 is reversed. If you do crown molding you will cry more than a few hours before you wise up. I wasted a lot of hours making excuses for Hitachi, but that is it for me. The saw is being returned. The bevel adjustment would stick and eventually not work properly. The handle (reverse threaded) was so over torqued on that it took a pipe to break loose. When doing that the handle skipped some teeth as well. After doing half of the job I ended up getting a Dewalt and Home Depot. He has totally rebuilt our entire outside octagon deck using this tool. Needless to say I love it if he doesn't, but he does. He was amazed at the price here on Amazon also as it is more expensive other places. Well made and durable he is very happy with the Miter. A very proud addition to his workspace. What this does is makes for great site lines and extreme angles on right hand bevel cuts. To further, make bevel cuts easier, both sides of the two piece fence are on swing arms that quickly rotate the upper portions of the fence out of the way. The tall fence is ideal for cutting tall materials like base board or crown. I did find slight play in the detent stops on the miter scale, of course once I located the miter angle in by turning the miter lock handle, this was not too much of an issue. The built-in laser has an on and off switch and we found that when making cuts out of direct sunlight, it was accurate and helpful. I did like that a material clamp that was include but there were no table extensions. The Sun Fence (C) was broken. I called Hitachi, said parts exceeded allied amount and recommended I return it. Called CPO Outlet (seller) said to return it. Huge inconvenience. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and returned it and ordered another. Today my 2nd arrived and the base seems bent. If I lay it on a flat surface I can wobble it back and forth just a little. Also, sub fence (c) is broken on this one as well. Also pictured is another random metal piece I found in the box that was broken from the bottom. It runs smoothly, cuts accurately (with the right blade), and stops quickly. I have to mention the packaging though because I almost sent this back because of it. It is packed in a relatively flimsy box that is just too small for the saw. The bevel is set to full left with the sub-fence B in the down position. That means that motor housing and sub-fence B occupy the same space at the same time.Look around at the reviews. I'm not the first one to report this. I called Amazon and they said send it back. I thought that if they send me another, there's a good chance it will be broken too. Then I called Hitachi. They shipped me a new sub-fence B under warranty. I installed it in about 30 seconds. (It's 1 screw) I was up and running 1 week after I received the saw from Amazon. So in the grand scheme of things 10 years down the road I won't remember that I had to wait 1 week to use this saw. I'll just remember 10 years (hopefully) of great service from it. So even though it was a bit of a challenge to get up and running, I'm still giving it 5 stars. It was well aligned out of the box. The various adjustments are pretty easy to perform to really dial it in. Someone else mentioned the stock blade not being the best. It's great for chopping 2x4's and such. It doesn't splinter them anyway. I got a ultra fine Bosch blade to do some molding work for our kitchen. It cuts very cleanly. So my advice is, go ahead and get this saw. It's way less expensive than the double bevel DeWalt with a laser. Just be prepared to ask Hitachi for a new sub-fence B.Therefore cut accuracy is substantial for me. The saw has enough power and cuts in straight line. When I cut 45 degree cuts they align nicely. The saw has some issues and I consider return it. I destroyed the packaging so I kept it. The saw wasn't adjusted when took it out from the box. Couldn't adjust fence so had to file the holes that I am able to adjust it. So I need to push the saw inside the groove on one side to get correct angle.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again Very well built.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Didn't figure out until a couple weeks ago how I would fill it in. Once I got the idea I knew I would need a miter saw to speed up the cutting process. Right now it's all about the cross cutting, and when I finish this project I will be looking into ideas for obelisks because that's why I took that woodworking class.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. On motor when pressed and on brake when released. The switch with brake does not last very long because the braking action is really just shorting motor circuit (short circuit). All motors can produce electricity. The brake action occurs by shorting motor thru switch. Electricity that motor is producing while turning forces armature to stop. Other brands use a resister in breaking system to absorbe current help switch last longer. One of them is a miter saw. A miter saw is a saw that is used to make accurate crosscuts and miters in a work piece.
