The battery lasts four holes of play, and the no battery sign is seen. The watch is then unusable. I wrote Bushnell. The warranty is one year. The battery cannot be replaced by the owner. It must be serviced by Bushnell. To obtain service, the watch must be sent to Bushnell with a ten dollar check to cover return shipping. Bushnell then tells you the cost of repair. With shipping costs, it is conceivable the repair can cost 50 of the original cost. Bushnell should either make a watch with a consumer replaceable battery, or make a watch with an effective battery life of more than one year.To judge its' shot distance accuracy, I laid out two 300' tape measures end to end (200 yds) and further broke that down to every 25 yds. I gave each distance 30 secs prior to recording the number to give the gps time to adjust to my movements. I ran the experiment 3 times. The watch appears to be more accurate the longer the distance. I found it very easy to use and won't miss having to put the laser up to my eye, hold it very steady to make any more measurements. EnjoyThe watch is a bit bulky, but it is light enough that it does not interfere with my swing. Indeed, after the first few days I hardly noticed that I was wearing the watch. I golf without glasses, which means my near vision is poor; however, the text on the watch face is large enough for me to read. Your vision may differ, so try to look at one of these in your local pro shop or sporting goods store. I have compared the watch's distance findings against my partners' and competitors' lasers and other types of GPS rangefinders and my readings always seem to be within 1-2 yards of theirs. Also, using the laser rangefinder was much more time consuming than using the watch. I also had a pocket GPS but find that this watch is much easier and more convenient to use--just a quick glance at my wrist and an occasional push of a button to measure shot distance or the distance to hazards (the watch automatically sets itself to the hole being played). With the watch showing how far it is to the front, center and back of the green, I save quite a bit of time not having to scout for distance markers and to do the mental calculations to correct for pin placement. Is this watch a necessity? Not really. Is it a truly great convenience? Absolutely. Would I go back to a laser or pocket GPS rangefinder. Based on the watch's performance to date, no.HOWEVER, there is no way to find out if the data in the watch needs to be updated unless you go to a golf course and try to use it only to find out the data is out of date. To update it you have to connect it to a computer that has internet access and update the data. The BIG problem is that the update is only for any course you pick. You can individually pick another course and update the data for that course. Want to update another course. The you have to select that course and update that course. I wish I had never bought this watch.

There are watches on the market that allow mass updates of the entire data base, While total update of the data might take hours, with this crappy watch you have to keep selecting the courses to be updated every minute or two.You could get two rounds from one charge. That didn't last too long. After a few months it would go dead in the middle of the second round. At 22 months it would not last a full round. On the 16th hole it would show 3 bars on the battery meter, then it would die on 17. I sent it in to Bushnell, they said it is out of warranty. They offered to sell me one at a discounted price which happens to be more than what I paid for the original. I would not purchase another one from Bushnell. I don't see a reason to buy an inferior product for the second time, also the lack of customer service and support.I tried to have it repaired under warranty and from the offset the company were quite clearly trying to avoid repairing it even BEFORE I had given them of any details.The lady on the phone was trying to say I had used it too heavy a rainfall and that's why it got wet. Please try again You are required to download the iGolf sync driver which follows the usual download and install routine after creating your user details. Driver 2.2.0.5 is then downloaded from the web (not a disk) so it should be the latest driver. It then tells you there is a more up to date driver available - 6.6.1 but first you need to uninstall the driver you installed. You do this and then proceed to go round and round in circles. In my case, it changed to a hole I had already been on as this quite close so you need to check that the watch reflects the hole that you are actually on. We wish we could tell you how long it takes to set up the device including syncing, but as mentioned above, we haven’t yet been able to sync. We do, however, highly recommend that users sync prior to the first use of the device just in case there have been course updates since the unit was packed in the box, and we find it useful to continue to sync on a regular basis thereafter. But we continue to be amazed by the number of incredibly poor syncing experiences we’ve experienced with golf GPS units. If syncing isn’t available or isn’t working at launch, the user will likely conclude (and rightfully so, in some cases) that they can’t count on it ever being available. During our testing we were able to complete three full rounds on a single charge (although just barely, as the battery meter was showing empty after we finished the third round). Pressing any other button will end the measurement, and thus you cannot toggle between views while continuing to measure shot distance. You don’t have to exit your current round to check the battery level. If you don’t know what the date is, you’re out of luck. Hole handicap is not available. And it’s also waterproof! None of the features or preference settings other than shot tracking can be accessed without exiting from your current round. From the “Golf” menu, you can select the unit of measure for your distances (yards or meters), the length of time (starting from commencement of the round) before the device automatically shuts off (which can range from 1.5 hours to 9 hours, or be shut off entirely). The “Menu” button provides access to a different group of settings, including time (whether you want to set time manually or have it determined by GPS, whether or not daylight savings time is in effect, and the format (12 or 24 hours) in which time is displayed), the unit of measurement for the odometer (miles or kilometers), sound (whether or not a tone sounds every time you press a button), and GPS status (which will display your precise latitude and longitude coordinates). The distances to points continue to be shown throughout the hole, regardless of how far away you are from those points. We compared the NEO-X against a Bushnell Hybrid, and found that the two devices were consistently within a few yards of one another, reasonable given the usual accuracy of GPS devices. It doesn’t track scores or statistics, but the addition of pre-mapped hazard information (although only two hazards are shown at a time) makes the NEO-X a good buy.
