Like any piece of kitchen equipment, there are can be a few quirks that pop up over time. Fortunately, our Bunn commercial coffee maker troubleshooting tips can help you identify and solve whatever is ailing your machine. Click on the Issues Below to Read More: Brew Cycle Won’t Start Makes Unusual Noises Water or Beverage Overflows from Filter Weak Beverage Being Brewed Spitting or Too Much Steam Won’t Heat or Heating Takes Too Long Brew Cycle Won’t Start Here are some reasons why the brew cycle on your Bunn coffee maker won’t begin its cycle. If it doesn’t, the brewer might have “Brew Lockout” enabled. Check your owner’s manual for disabling this function. If it’s on, contact an authorized service technician to repair or test quickly. Contact an authorized technician to test and repair either insufficiency. Makes Unusual Noises Whenever you hear strange noises coming from the machine, look for these possible causes. Make sure these aren’t on the countertop during operation. Tighten them accordingly. If a vibrating sound continues with these components, have it check by an authorized technician. Then, see if the water pressure is correct. Water pressure to the machine shouldn’t exceed 90 PSI. You may need a new regulator installed by an authorized technician to correct the issue. Water or Beverage Overflows If water or the beverage overflows from the unit, check for the following. The machine should only be using Bunn OEM filter paper to keep the brewing process at full speed and preventing overflow. If the sprayhead on the coffee maker broken or is missing, contact an authorized technician to replace it immediately. Leaving in coffee will cause overflowing when new beverage is brewed. Check the owner’s manual to reach your desired brew volume during each cycle. You’ll need to calibrate the sprayhead during the adjustment. Weak Beverage Being Brewed If the brewed beverage is not very strong, look for the issues below. http://eczanemuhendisleri.com/userfiles/craftsman-12-amp-edger-manual.xml

Anything lower is incorrect during the brewing process. Level them by gently shaking. If it’s broken, have it replaced by an authorized technician. Won’t Heat or Heating Takes Too Long If the coffee maker won’t heat or takes too long to heat, one of the potential issues below could be the culprit. Have an authorized service technician repair the issue or replace them. Remove power from the brewer and reset it. Then, check for continuity through the limit thermostat. It applies to 11 different models and none of them seem to be this model. I finally called technical support to learn how to use it. It helps to understand how Bunn coffee makers work. The first step before even plugging in this unit is to fill that reservoir by pouring 3 pitchers of water in to the top slowly until water starts to flow out of the funnel. Then plug it in and turn on the switch at the back. Mine had a plastic tie that had to be cut in order to flip the switch. That is because you can damage the machine by turning it on with no water. Now you are ready to brew. As soon as you add cold water to the machine, an equal amount of hot water will Immediately begin flowing into the brew funnel. Now comes the part where I take off 2 stars. This unit is advertised as brewing up to 3 liters. While it is technically true that you can fill a 3L airpot, if you try to pour 3 liters in at once it will overflow. The technician at Bunn told me that it is actually designed for 64oz at a time, or about 2L. That means you have to add the water in two stages, waiting a couple minutes between. Doing this I see that the temperature of the water, which peaked at 192F, drops to 163F by the end of the brew. This may not affect the final flavor of the coffee, as I think most of the extraction happens early on. The only way around this temperature issue is to put in 2 liters, wait for the light to come back on, then put in the rest. It also brews 2L at a time. The only reason I spent the extra money was for the convenience of brewing 3L at once. I am still debating whether to return this, but I don't really want to wait for a replacement as I need to brew a lot of coffee this weekend. Update: I have raised my review from 3 to 4 stars. I've been using this pot for 8 months now and it is great. SInce I wrote the review initially I contacted Amazon by chat and they refunded me the difference in price from the other Bunn model mentioned above. {-Variable.fc_1_url-

This brewer makes excellent coffee and it makes it fast. If they update the description to clarify that you can't pour 3 liters of water in at once I will upgrade to 5 stars. It worked exactly as expected. You need to use filtered water, with these though because hard water will corrode the internal parts and the heater and it will just stop working. That is what happened to the one that needed to be repaired. A lot of tap water is hard had has calcium and chlorine that will corrode the element and the tubes quickly. These brewers are great and the coffee is the best. This smell has continued for two weeks, and is a horrible, strong odor. Would not recommend this unit to others. You just need to make sure you take the time to learn how to use itIn order to navigate out of this carousel please use your heading shortcut key to navigate to the next or previous heading. This means you are cleaning your machine of any lime or other deposits that may have accumulated due to the water you use. How often you must delime depends on the type of water you're using. Hard water tends to cause accumulated deposits more often. Unplug the brewer before beginning the deliming process. Locate the spray head.? Unscrew the spray head and put it aside for later. Find the deliming probe that came with your brewer. Insert all but two inches of the deliming probe into the spray head opening. Slide the tool in and out five or six times, loosening the deposits. Next clean the spray head. Any remaining mineral deposits can be removed from the spray head with a toothpick or other small prodding utensil. Rinse the spray head with water before reinstalling. Plug in the brewer and allow the water in the tank to reheat before using. How to empty a BUNN coffee maker It's good practice to empty the water in your BUNN routinely, but it should definitely be emptied whenever you need to take it somewhere, ship it, or store it in an unheated location where it has the possibility of freezing. This is how to empty your BUNN coffee maker safely: Unplug the brewer.? Cool the water in the tank by sliding an empty brew funnel into the brewer under the warmer switch and centering an empty decanter on the warmer. Pour a full pitcher of cold water into the top of the brewer. Wait for the water to stop flowing from the funnel and empty the decanter. Repeat with a second pitcher of water. Remove the spray head. Turn it counterclockwise with your fingers and remove it. Over your sink, quickly turn the brewer upside down. The majority of the water in the tank will come out of the spray head opening, yet some water may flow from near the top of the lid. Continue until the water stops draining. Put the spray head back on by turning it clockwise until it is secure. As you can see, overall, BUNN coffee maker maintenance is simple.? If you're in the market for a machine, check out our article on BUNN coffee maker reviews, where we take a close-up look at 7 of the brand's top machines to help toy find the one that's right for you. You'll be able to taste the difference when you brew with one of their machines. And now, after learning how to work a BUNN coffee maker, you're an expert brewer! Notify me of new posts by email. Notify me of new posts by email. To find out more, including how to control cookies, see here. There is a way to reverse this and enable yourself to adjust the settings. Everything else you've read so far, I have done a lot of, except this. I just know about this solution from speaking to a Bunn technician. Remove this panel by unscrewing the screws. This will allow you to set different water volume levels. If no water is coming out of your Bunn coffee brewer, there are any number of things that could be wrong that I have no idea how to fix. That said, there is one method that you definitely want to try before you start to hate your coffee machine. You simply might not have enough water in the reservoir tank. I wrote a very detailed article on how to get the water to come out of the brewer and into the pot. Maxwell House Coffee has been around since the 1800's. It is a product of Kraft Foods. It is produced in two USA locations Jacksonville, Florida and San Leandro, California. It is widely consumed by. Is Ellis William Penn One Of the Best Coffees ? Will. Comments are not for promoting your articles or other sites.Works great as a pour through. As soon as I connect a water line (even if power is off), water starts coming through the machine. With the top off so you can view the fill tray, water bubbles up out of the reservoir. I have replaced the solenoid valve, no change. Who has had this happen, and what is the solution. It seems to me that the only option I have not tried is to block the second water line in the back of the machine (the one from the reservoir, not the one that feeds through the solenoid). It’s brand new NOTE: Prior to setting or modifying batch sizes, check that the brewer is connected to water supply, the tank is properly filled, and a funnel and server are in place. 1. Modifying batch sizes. To increase a batch size. Press and hold the START or BREW switch until three clicks are heard. Release the switch (Failure to release the switch within two seconds after the third click causes the volume setting to be aborted and previous volume setting will remain in memory) and press it again one or more times. Each time the switch is pressed, two seconds are added to the brew time period. To decrease a batch size. Press and release the START or BREW switch once for every two-second interval to be removed from the total brew time period; then immediately press and hold down the START or BREW switch until three clicks are heard. Release the switch. (Failure to release the switch within two seconds after the third click causes the volume setting to be aborted and previous volume setting will remain in memory). Allow the brew cycle to finish in order to verify that the desired volume has been achieved. Page 6 2. Setting batch sizes. Press and hold the START or BREW switch until three distinct clicks are heard, and then release the switch. (Failure to release the switch within two seconds after the third click causes the volume setting to be aborted and previous volume setting will remain in memory). View the level of the liquid being dispensed. The brewer remembers this volume and will continue to brew batches of this size until the volume setting procedure is repeated. NOTE: When brewing coffee, batch volumes will decrease due to absorption by the coffee grounds. 3. Setting programming disable feature. This will prevent any programming to be done until switch is once again placed in the “SET” position. Will adjusting the water flow help with this problem. Any help is appreciated ! Glad the coffee machine micro switch was aOK. Glad your coffee pot is full now. Thanks so much for stopping by It took me a few times to get it to the level i needed. I now have FULL pots of coffee! Thanks for the comment tina! I was thinking this would be an energy saver in addition to not having the coffee evaporate away in a glass pot. However, it occurred to me that perhaps the resevoir of water always stays hot (has a burner element on). This would make it NOT more energy efficient. I can't find an answer anywhere online. Do you know? Does it stay hot all the time or just heat when you hit the brew button. Thanks for any help. Sounds like you either need to turn the timer way down so it turns off much sooner (which I'm guessing you tried after reading this post) or something needs to be replaced, which unfortunately I can not help you with here. Maybe your timer is bad. That said, come to think of it, the timer adjustment could still be your solution. Often if you work on the lines (replace them, clean then, get new plumbing, etc) it could affect the pressure of the water going into the unit in a good way. Thanks for commenting. Good luck! I'd still suggest trying it first with coffee (after adjusting the level without coffee) first. I'm sort of talking on a limb here since I haven't had any problems but I suspect different coarseness or fineness of the grinds can retain more or less water. If it comes up short on your first 'real' pot of coffee then adjust a bit. Thanks for the comment. Appreciate it. When I was not using coffee I set it to a perfect level, but then when I brewed my first pot it was way less, it was then when I realized that the coffee grounds soak up a fair bit of water, so I had to readjust it. Cheers Thanks for the great, great comment! Well. I guess a lot of things could be wrong with the brewer but I suspect that you are no filling it up far enough for water to dispense. I added a section to my post for this. It might give you an idea of what to try in order to fix. Again, I think you might not be filling it enough. The article will explain this more. As far as heating the water up.
